The Corporation of the City of Dryden invites proposals from qualified multidisciplinary consulting teams to conduct an independent, comprehensive assessment of the social, health, economic, and municipal (fiscal,infrastructure, and service-delivery) impacts that would result from the implementation of the Nuclear Waste Management Organization's proposed Deep Geological Repository for Canada's Used Nuclear Fuel, located on unincorporated Crown land in the Revell site area between the Township of Ignace and the City of Dryden.

The assessment will provide the City with an independent evidence base to: (a) participate meaningfully and credibly in the federal integrated impact assessment of the Project led by the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada in coordination with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission; and (b) support the City's discussions and negotiations with the NWMO, the Province of Ontario, and the Government of Canada to establish credible impact mitigation,benefit enhancement, service capacity, and long-term fiscal sustainability for the duration of the project.

The Study must be methodologically consistent with, and structured to speak directly to, the Integrated Tailored Impact Statement Guidelines for the Deep Geological Repository for Canada's Used Nuclear Fuel Project issued by IAAC, with particular emphasis on Section 9 (Human Environment: health, social, and economic conditions),Section 6 (Assessment Methodology), and Section 12 (Planning for Transportation).

A defining focus of this Study is Dryden's role as a regional hub community. The Study must rigorously quantify and characterize the demands placed on Dryden's services, infrastructure, and municipal tax base by the large population residing in the surrounding unincorporated territories and neighbouring communities, and assess how the Project will change those demands across all Project phases.
