| Description: |
Inuit Heritage Trust is looking for Construction companies throughout Canada to submit proposals to enter into a Construction Manager contract to manage and execute the construction of the Nunavut Inuit Heritage Centre. An approximately 6,500m2 Nunavut Inuit Heritage Centre (NIHC) will be built in Iqaluit as the territorial heritage centre with a mandate to foster the development of heritage centres in each region and coordinate territory-wide collaborative exhibitions and programs. The NIHC will focus on living heritage, the continuity of Inuit culture and language, as well as the preservation and exhibition of cultural belongings. The NIHC will support healing and reconciliation by bridging generations, allowing Inuit to connect with their Elders and ancestors as well as with non-Inuit through objects and stories. Over the last couple of years, IHT has been working with Dorte Mandrup Architects (DMA) and their group of sub-consultants to develop the design of the NIHC. In November 2025 the DMA team completed the Schematic Design of the NIHC and are progressing into the Detailed Design phase of the project. IHT is executing this RFP with the intentions to find a General Contractor to join the NIHC team to work as a Construction Manager to advise in the completion of the design phases and seamlessly move into the construction phase of the project. The chosen Construction Manager will enter into a CCDC 5B – 2025 contract with IHT, providing construction management services for the execution of the NIHC construction project. |
