The Northern Savings Credit Union ("NSCU”) is seeking proposals from qualified proponents ("Proponents") in response to this request for proposals ("RFP") for review by the NSCU and, pursuant to the NSCU’s evaluation of Proposals to select one Preferred Proponent to enter into a contract for services discussed herein. McElhanney Ltd. (“McElhanney or Consultant”) are the consultants acting on behalf of the NSCU to receive any enquiries and submissions of this RFP. In 2018, the NSCU located at 138 3rd Avenue West, Prince Rupert, BC purchased an existing cast‐in‐place reinforced concrete parkade structure located at 210 McBride Street, Prince Rupert, BC. The NSCU now intends to engage a qualified contractor to deconstruct and demolish the parkade building by the completion date. The services will comprise the following for the Project including, without limiting: i. Separation of the building located at 210 McBride Street from the existing Northern Savings building at 138 3rd Avenue W. ii. Removal of the two, 3,000 imp. gal. underground storage tanks (USTs) located along McBride Street previously used for retail fuel storage. Both USTs contain residual fuel and water that needs to be removed prior to removal. Following removal, the contractor needs to allow for the collection of soil samples by the Consultant in the tank nest prior to backfilling. iii. Demolition of the building located at 210 McBride Street. iv. Completion of the building envelop of the newly exposed building face for 138 3rd Avenue West. v. Preparation of a plan outlining the temporary shoring of McBride St and 3rd Avenue W to maintain the existing sidewalks, underground utilities and roadway completed by a qualified professional. This plan will be submitted as part of the Demolition Permit Application to the City of Prince Rupert and the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure for confirmation that public infrastructure will be maintained during the deconstruction activities and once the site is cleared. |
