1. Construction of an Awning for the Municipal Building
Invitation to Tender
The Corporation of the Township of Prince invites qualified contractors to submit proposals for the
construction and installation of an awning at the front entrance of the municipal township building.
  
1. Project Overview
• Project Title: Construction of an Awning for the Municipal Township Building
• Location: 3042 Second Line W. Prince Township ON, P6A 6K4
• Scope of Work: Design, construction, and installation of a durable and aesthetically pleasing awning that
complements the architecture of the building and provides adequate protection from weather conditions.
2. Key Dates
• Tender Release Date: September 27th, 2024
• Site Visit (Optional): Available upon request. Please contact Deputy Clerk Sam Carolei at (705) 779-
2992 ext. 3 or deputyclerk@princetwp.ca to schedule.
• Tender Closing: Oct 25th at 5:00 pm.
• Tender Selection: Nov 12th, 2024, at 6:00 pm.
3. Submission Requirements
• Proposals must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked “Tender for Awning Construction”.
• Submissions must include:
o Detailed design proposal with materials, dimensions, and specifications.
o Total cost breakdown, including materials, labor, and other expenses.
o Estimated time to complete the project.
o Proof of liability insurance ($5,000,000) and active WSIB status.
o References for similar projects completed in the past 5 years.
4. Scope of Work
The selected contractor will be responsible for:
• Designing an awning that meets aesthetic and functional requirements.
• Procuring all necessary materials and equipment.
• Installing the awning, ensuring minimal disruption to the municipal office operations.
• Ensuring compliance with all applicable building codes and standards.
• Guaranteeing the work and providing any required maintenance within the first year of ownership
• Completing the project by October 2025.
5. Evaluation Criteria
The tenders will be evaluated based on:
• Design and Materials (30%): Aesthetics, durability, and quality of proposed materials.
• Cost (30%): Total cost of the project.
• Experience and References (20%): Contractor’s previous experience and feedback from past clients.
• Timeline (10%): Ability to complete the project within the specified timeframe.
• Accessibility and Compliance (10%): Compliance with accessibility standards and other relevant
regulations.
6. Terms and Conditions
• The Township of Prince reserves the right to accept or reject any or all tenders, including the lowest
tender.
• The winning bidder must sign a contract with the Township of Prince and provide a performance bond or
security deposit equivalent to 10% of the total project cost.
• In the event of identical low bids, the Township may determine the successful bidder by a coin toss
conducted in the presence of the tied bidders.

Reception Area Renovation for the Municipal Office
Invitation to Tender

of the municipal office reception area, including the removal of the existing reception desk and installation of a
new accessible desk with enhanced storage capacity.

• Project Title: Renovation of Municipal Office Reception Area
• Location: Prince Township Municipal Office
• Scope of Work: Removal of the current reception desk, installation of a new lower desk with additional
storage, and relocation of the desk to allow for accessibility and improved social distancing measures.

o References for similar projects completed in the past 5 years.

The selected contractor will be responsible for:
• Removal of the existing reception desk and any related components.
• Design and installation of a new lower reception desk with additional storage.
• Relocation of the desk further back in the office to improve accessibility for residents in wheelchairs and
to provide better social distancing.
• Compliance with all relevant building codes and accessibility standards (e.g., AODA).
• Completion of all work by October 2025.
5. Design Specifications
• The new desk should be at a lower height to accommodate wheelchair users.
• Storage should include multiple drawers and cabinets for efficient use of space.
• The desk should be designed to complement the interior design of the office.
• Materials should be durable and easy to maintain.
6. Evaluation Criteria
